Earlier this week, Vivo introduced the Vivo V20 series in the form of the vanilla V20 and V20 Pro. From its great revelation, we knew there was one more piece missing from this family – the Vivo V20 SE. Now, the wait is over and the company has finally unveiled the Vivo V20 SE in all its glory. As you might expect, it is a mid-range smartphone without 5G capabilities, but a good overall specification that may justify your choice for it. Price is aggressive below its siblings.
Vivo V20 SE Specifications
Under the hood, we have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset. It may not be your cup of tea, but it is still a compact chipset for mid-range performance. It packs eight Cortex-A53 cores with clock speeds up to 2.2 GHz. The chipset can run most games in the Google Play Store, but the more intensive ones will likely fall into the middle settings. However, it is a good chipset for standard use. Oppo was kind enough to combine this smartphone with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. You can even expand the memory further with a microSD card.
These specifications are built around a 6.44-inch FHD + AMOLED screen with water notch and on-screen fingerprint scanner. Instead of a fancy hole, the new handset brings the good old waterdrop notch that serves as the home for the powerful 32MP selfie. Moving backwards, we have a plastic back that surrounds a triple camera setup with a 48MP primary shooter. The camera is combined with two auxiliary units with an extremely wide 8MP lens and a 2MP depth shooter. The selfie camera has a 32MP snapper.
The handset draws power from a fairly large 4,100mAh battery and the Vivo is not shy about bringing fast charging technologies to the mid-range segment as it comes with 33W wired fast charging. The company promises charges from 0 to 62% in just 30 minutes. In terms of software, the new handset brings Funtouch OS 11 based on Android 10. Funtouch OS 11 is the company’s new software vision introduced with the V20 series. It still needs a proper announcement, but it will run over the upcoming Android 11 database for Vivo headphones.
Pricing and availability
The phone is available in 161.00 × 74.08 × 7.83 mm and weighs just 171 grams. The company is asking for RM 1,199 for which it is about $ 287. Details on availability will be revealed later. The phone is available in black and white.
