As planned, Realme has now announced a new budget smartphone called the Realme 6i in the Indian market. With the new device, the Chinese smartphone maker has further expanded the latest Realme 6 series. The Realme 6i seems to be filling the price gap that the company has due to the recent price increase. The device is very similar to vanilla Realme 6 and evenly, it shares some of the specifications.
Realme 6i: Price in India, Availability
The Realme 6i is available in two different storage configurations – 4 GB + 64 GB and 6 GB + 64 GB. The basic version of the device comes with a price of 12,999 INR (ie about $ 173). The top model, on the other hand, will refund you about INR 14,999 (ie $ 200). The smartphone is available in two color options, such as Lunar White and Eclipse Black.
In terms of availability, the device will be available for download from July 21 via the official Flipkart and Realme websites.
Speaking of specifications, Realme 6i is equipped with a 6.5 inch screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1800 pixels and a refresh rate of 90Hz for a smooth experience. Thanks to the thin rims and the perforation, the screen comes with a screen to body ratio of 90.5%. For extra protection, there is a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass at the top of the screen. Unfortunately, the brand has not revealed what version it is.
Under the hood, the smartphone uses the MediaTek Helio G90T chipset in combination with up to 6 GB LPDDR4x RAM and 64 GB UFS 2.1. In terms of optics, the Realme 6i has a quad-camera unit at the rear. The unit consists of a 48MP (f / 1.8) primary sensor, an ultra-wide 8MP lens (f / 2.3), a 2MP macro (f / 2.4) and a B&W portrait lens (f / 2.4).
For selfie, there is a 16MP front snapper with f / 2.0 aperture mounted inside the cutout. All of these are powered by a 4,300 mAh battery with 30W charging support. There is a side fingerprint sensor for biometrics and the brand demands an immediate unlock of 0.29 seconds. The phone runs on Android 10 with the Realme UI skin on top.
Finally, we consider Bluetooth 5.0, single band WiFi, audio jack and USB Type-C port for charging. It would be interesting to see how the device manages to perform in this market segment.
