Earlier this year, Oppo took its first step in the competitive smartwatch trend with the release of the Oppo Watch. The device was released in May this year. Just like other Chinese smartwatches, the wearable comes with a proprietary operating system from Oppo. It is a common practice in the portable as companies can control the hardware and software of its smartwatches. However, in a new development, it seems that the Indian version of the Oppo Watch will be pre-installed with the Wear OS by Google. The wearable will make its debut in India on July 31st.
The Chinese version of the Oppo Watch runs the ColorOS Watch originally developed by Oppo. However, the Indian version will have WearOS. The promotional GIF released by the company confirms this. While the updated Oppo Watch is ready to be officially released next week, it seems have become official in Germany. Google’s WearOS may not be your cup of tea, as the system still needs a lot of features to make it stand out. But Oppo believes that it is the best choice to drive the popularity of the dress abroad.
World specifications of Oppo watches
The OPPO Watch released in Germany has some Google applications such as Google Assistant and Google Pay. The Chinese version came with Oppo’s Breeno assistant and Ali Pay, these two features are not really useful outside of China. The device has a 1.6-inch AMOLED screen with curved edges. The screen has a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels and also has a Gorilla Glass 3 coating.
Under the hood, wearable power draws from the Snapdragon Wear 2500 and the energy-efficient Apollo 3 chip will take control of some “Always On” features. The laptop has 1 GB of RAM which is enough for most tasks and 8 GB of internal storage. The lights are maintained with a 300mAh battery and in low power mode, this may be enough for 14 days of use.
The new wearer can attend various types of sports activities. Ranging from running to cycling activities. In addition, it also has heart rate monitoring, sleep monitoring, menstrual cycle monitoring and ECG reader. The availability of the latter feature will vary by country, as it will have to be approved by health regulators. In Germany, the smartwatch debuted at a price of 249 euros.
Oppo Watch to make its debut in India with a degraded Reno 4 Pro
The new Oppo Watch will be officially released in India on July 32 along with the Oppo Reno 4 Pro. The Reno 4 Pro will also be different and has no 5G connectivity. The Chinese Reno 4 Pro was released with the Snapdragon 765G, while the Indian variant will be released with the Snapdragon 720G only for 4G. It is worth noting that there is still no 5G network in India. But this is not an excuse for Oppo to release a degraded version of its smartphone in the country. In addition, once 5G becomes available, the device will be obsolete.
