In July, Oppo introduced the global variant of the Reno4 Pro. Instead of the Snapdragon 765G with 5G capability, the company brought a smaller variant with the Snapdragon 720G. The device went on many purchases alongside its vanilla brother. Today, the company releases a new software update for the global Oppo Reno4 Pro variant (Via). Increases the level of Android security patch on the smartphone until September 5, 2020.
In addition to the new security enhancements, the update also brings a whole host of performance improvements and overall stability. Finally, we have some improvements in the camera effects. The new CPH2119_A11_A.17 firmware update is available in India. Of course, there is a gradual pattern. It may take a few days to reach all suitable Reno 4 Pro units.
SPECIFICATIONS OPPO RENO4 PRO (GLOBAL)
The Reno4 Pro Global variant has a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD + resolution and a refresh rate of 90Hz. In addition, this panel offers a touch sampling rate of 180Hz which means it is very sensitive to games and quite bright with a maximum brightness of 1,100 nits. The board also hides a fingerprint scanner and has the necessary Widevine certification to play 1080p video from Netflix. The board also has curves that effectively make it look like a rimless smartphone. It actually has a screen to bot ratio of 92%. The phone weighs just 161g and is 7.7mm thick. At the top left of this screen, we have a hole with a single 32MP snapper that supports night mode.
Moving backwards, we have a quad Camera setting in a rectangular shape. Interestingly enough, the camera array is quite different from the one offered by the Chinese version. The phone is available with a 48MP main camera from Sony with Nigh Mode support and Electronic Video Stabilization. We also have an 8MP Ultra-Wide camera and a 2MP camera. It is worth noting that the fourth and last sensor is a monochrome 2MP sensor. Oppo has removed the telephoto camera found in the Chinese version.
Under the hood, the phone comes with the aforementioned Snapdragon 720G SoC. It is an energy efficient processor, but unlike the Snapdragon 765G, its brother has no 5G connectivity. Oppo knows that this chip is weaker than the Chinese version, so it compares it to the Helio P95 found in the global Reno3 Pro. According to the company, the Qualcomm 8nm chip has 47% higher single-core performance. In addition, the GPU is 40% faster than the MediaTek solution. However, the phone will be even lower than some Oppo Reno3 Pro units with Snapdragon 765G. However, you have better cameras with the Reno 4 Pro.
The phone has a 4,000 mAh battery that is enough to last an entire day of use. To make matters even better, Oppo connected the phone to a crazy SuperVOOC 2.0 system. Provides a 65W charge for the smartphone that allows you to receive a full charge in just 36 minutes. According to the Chinese manufacturer, this system is quite secure offering a multi-level protection installation. The system is constantly monitored and if something goes wrong, the power is cut off immediately
