Oppo is preparing to unveil the Oppo Reno 4 Pro in India on July 31. The new smartphone will be different from the Chinese version in several ways. Perhaps, it is more different than we expect and in a disappointing way. Ultimately, it will come with the Snapdragon 720G SoC. Don’t get me wrong, this is a good dual-core Cortex-A75 chipset. However, it is still behind the Snapdragon 765G, which is also a 5G system with system capability. Obviously, Oppo does not want to launch a 5G chip smartphone in India once there is no 5G network in the country. Unfortunately, customers will not have the opportunity to buy a Reno4 smartphone that will be ready for the new network once launched.
We have already seen some leaks that show the design of the smartphone. Now, the price has leaked and may scare the customer used with the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Pro Max prices. These smartphones share similar specifications. The Reno 4 Pro 4G will cost around 32,990 INR in the country, which is over $ 440. For this price, you have 8 GB RAM with 128 GB storage variant. To put it bluntly, the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max that comes with the same Snapdragon 720G is priced under $ 267 in the country. Even the recently released OnePlus Nord is cheaper and arrives in India with the chipset that Oppo neglected, the Snapdragon 765G.

Very expensive for a smartphone other than 5G
The Reno4 Pro is even better than the Redmi Note 9 series with a curved Super AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz. In addition, the phone comes with a fast charge of 65W which is twice as much as the Note 9 Pro Max. According to leakster, the new mid-range phones will target the Vivo X50 and Samsung A71s. The first arrived in India with 8 GB RAM / 128 GB storage configuration and costs $ 465. This is a little more than what Oppo will ask for the Reno 4 Pro. However, once again, the Vivo X50 comes with the Snapdragon 765G SoC which effectively makes it a more durable smartphone in the future. It also has a 90Hz AMOLED screen.
We do not see the big advantage of getting the Reno 4 Pro in India when you have better deals like the upcoming OnePlus Nord which sells for 27,999 INR for the 8GB RAM and 128GB version.
