The prototypes Oppo Reno 4 and Reno 4 Pro were released in early June in China. Both headsets came with powerful cameras and a Snapdragon 765G chipset that provides 5G connectivity. It is the same chip found in the global variants of the Oppo Reno 3 Pro. Last month, the company removed the Global Reno 4 and Reno 4 Pro smartphones. Instead of 5G chips, both phones came with the Snapdragon 720G, which only secures LTE connectivity. The Oppo Reno series typically focuses on design and photography. With that in mind, the company is teasing a new Artist Limited Edition of the Reno 4 Pro coming in collaboration with James Jean.
Unsurprisingly, a Chinese company is announcing a new special edition of a brand new handset. Oppo recently released the Reno Ace2 Evangelion Limited Edition with a set of accessories on the popular anime theme. Now, a few months after the release of the Reno 4 Pro, the company is preparing a new version. This time, however, it is a smartphone that comes in collaboration with world-renowned artist James Jean.
A new art edition inspired by Chinese culture
James Jean won numerous awards for his cover of popular DC Comics and Marvel Comics headquarters in the early 2000s. In recent years, he has even worked on some blockbuster art posters such as Mother !, The Shape of Water and Blade Runner 2049. He has also worked with Prada on several occasions. As for the Oppo collaboration, we are not sure how its contribution will affect the special edition. We are waiting for a phone with some unique features in its design and we are also waiting for unique wallpapers. The teaser post even suggests art inspired by the Chinese tradition.
These special editions are often sold in the most advanced configuration, so expect the same to happen with the Reno 4 Pro. Unfortunately, the details are still rare, but fortunately we do not have to wait much longer. The handset will be official on August 17.
