After completing its plans for the market flagship, Oppo is launching a range of premium mid-range phones outside of China. The company recently released the Oppo F17 and Oppo F17 Pro a few days ago in India. The Pro version will be released in the country on September 7 with a price of 22,990 INR. This is over $ 314. Unfortunately, there is still no official information from the company about global availability. However, its very reliable leak Evan Blass He shared some pictures of the F17 Pro on Twitter mentioning it as “Oppo A93”. Obviously, the company will launch the global version as the A93.
This will not be the first time Oppo has used such a strategy. The company along with its sister, Vivo, is known for releasing multiple variants with separate names for the same smartphone. The Oppo A93 will be another device to continue this strategy.
Specifications Oppo A93 / Oppo F17 Pro
The Oppo F17 Pro features a 6.43-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD + resolution and a standard 60Hz refresh rate. The panel is certified for video playback from Netflix and Prime Video and HD quality. The screen comes with Gorilla Glass 3 coating, it is a bit old now, but at least it will prevent some scratches.
Under the hood, the new phone carries the MediaTek Helio P95 chipset, the king of the Helio P. series. Promotes smartphone performance along with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. According to the company, the chipset includes an optimized GPU with low latency performance and no latency.
The phone packs a camera tile on the back. Unlike current designs, the color of the camera shot follows the color of the smartphone. This is an interesting detail for the differentiation of the Oppo A93 / F17 Pro, as most companies stick with black cameras in 2020. The series includes a single 48MP shooter, an ultra-wide 8MP lens and two 2MP monochrome units. In the selfie team, we have a dual camera sensor that sits inside a hole. Includes a unique 16MP primary sensor plus a 2MP depth sensor.
The handset draws power from a 4,000 mAh battery with support for fast charging VOOC 4.0 30W. Runs Android 10 straight from the box with ColorOS 7.2 running at the top.
While the Oppo F17 Pro comes as the Oppo A93 in global markets, we are curious to see what name will be given to the vanilla F17.
