HMD Global has done a great job so far with the revival of Nokia. However, if the company’s portfolio is still missing it is a suitable flagship device. However, that could eventually change this year with the Nokia 9.3 PureView, a device that comes to address some of the bugs made with the original Nokia PureView. The device is expected for the third quarter of 2020 this year along with other smartphones such as Nokia 6.3 and Nokia 7.3. However, a new report states that the company will reduce the circulation of these devices due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
New Nokia devices only in Q4 2020
According sources who are very familiar with the subject, HMD is forced to announce the release date of the phones at the beginning of the fourth quarter of this year. Of course, it also depends on how long it takes to correct the supply chain disturbances caused by the COVID-19 pandemics. It has been a long time since the company launched a smartphone. The latest and most relevant entry in the Nokia portfolio was Nokia 8.3. Comes with 5G connectivity thanks to the use of the Snapdragon 765G. We can understand how pandemics and supply chain disruptions disrupt the company’s smartphone production. HMD also relies on ODM in China to make its smartphones. One of these companies is Foxconn which also produces many other smartphone brands.
The Nokia 7.3 will be available as an affordable 5G offering, possibly with the Snapdragon 765G SoC or MediaTek Dimensity chip. Nokia 6.3, on the other hand, will be a 4G smartphone running on a Snapdragon 670 or 675 platform. However, some rumors indicate the presence of a Snapdragon 730 chip. The handset will also ship with a Quad-Camera installation on the back .
The Nokia 9.3 PureView is the flagship that Nokia fans have been waiting for
As for the Nokia 9.3 PureView, we are talking about the most anticipated and perhaps the most exciting Nokia smartphone in a while. The new flagship will run on the Snapdragon 865 platform. In addition, it is expected to appear with a 120Hz refresh rate display. In the camera section, we will have a 108MP shooter combined with ZEISS optics. Interestingly enough, some rumors suggest that Nokia may be preparing a selfie camera under the screen to make its debut in its new flagship. However, this is a rumor that needs to be confirmed.
With the third quarter starting next month, we will probably have more information about the delay in the coming weeks.
