HMD Global is one of the best companies in providing Android updates. These updates cover the latest in older Nokia smartphones. We know that COVID-19 has delayed the company’s original program, but updates are still coming. Now, leaked internal Android 10 betas leaked for Nokia 8 Sirocco and Nokia 5.1 Plus. Obviously, the company is in the testing phase for these two devices.
The upcoming betas are courtesy of the XDA-Developer member hikari_calyx. In the past, it has also shared some other beta leaks. Now, Nokia’s first flagship device, the Nokia 8 Sirocco, and the mid-range Nokia 5.1 Plus have the same treatment. It is worth noting that the version for Nokia 8 is from January 2020, while the version Nokia 5.1 is more recent and can also be installed on Nokia X5 if you have previously uploaded the Android One firmware.
If you have a Nokia 8 Sirocco, you can upgrade this update with stock recovery. Meanwhile, Nokia 5.1 Plus users will need to gain root privileges. However, this is not necessary if you have unlocked the bootloader. We assume that this is not an easy task, as HMD Global does not provide an official method for unlocking the bootloader on Nokia 5.1 Plus.
You can head to source link if you want more details explaining how to install these betas leaks. However, do so at your own risk, as these are not official methods. If you are not so desperate for the Android 10 update, you can still wait a few more weeks as HMD will eventually release both updates.
