HMD Global wants to maintain its name as “the fastest smartphone brand that provides Android updates”. Today, the company is releasing the Android 10 update for Nokia 3.1 Plus. This device was released in October 2018 with Android Oreo and received Android Pie in February 2019. Now, the handset is receiving the latest Android 10 update. It is amazing to see this level of support for an entry-level smartphone. Of course, Android One provides at least two major Android updates for a device that owns it.
The new firmware comes with the software version V3.16H and includes all the goodies offered by Android 10. Among them, we can list the new navigation moves, updated license controls and UI updates. Interestingly enough, the new update upgrades the security patch to April 2020. It’s a bit outdated, as we walk into mid-May. However, we can ask for a lot for a device that is definitely a low priority for HMD.
As usual, the update will be released in bulk, reaching Nokia 3.1 Plus units in 38 countries. If no error occurs in the next few hours, it should be extended to more areas. You can check the list of suitable countries in the source Link. HMD expects this update to reach 10% today, 50% by May 16th and 100% by May 18th.
