Huawei’s Mate series was always released in the second half of the year. 2020 is not going to be an exception. Although we have seen a lot of performance, there are not many leaks that show the true appearance of the Huawei Mate 40. Today, a Weibo blogger showed off the screen protector of the Mate 40 Pro.
As shown in the picture, the hole in the upper left corner of the screen protector indicates that the Mate 40 Pro uses a full dual aperture screen. We can also see that it uses a curved screen design. By the way, this will be the first time the Mate series uses a curved screen with two holes.
In addition, from the comparison of the Mate 40 Pro screen protector and the actual Mate 30 Pro shot, the screen size of the two flagships does not differ much. RODENT950 revealed that the screen size of the Mate 40 Pro is about 6.7-6.8 inches.
Given that the Mate 20 Pro and Mate 30 Pro support 3D face recognition, there was every reason to believe that the Mate 40 Pro would retain this technology. But it is impossible to apply to a screen design with a hole.
In addition, refresh rate is also an important aspect of the Mate 40 Pro. From the leaked information, the refresh rate of the Mate 40 Pro is at least 90Hz. We believe, however, that there is a good chance that you will also see a screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz.
Well, the screen will be one of the biggest highlights of the Mate 40 Pro. But it is also expected to be very strong in terms of hardware and performance. Like the other Mate series headphones, it should feature Kirin’s top-of-the-line SoC. It is not yet certain what the specific name of the next generation Kirin flagship Soc will be. But we believe it will be either the Kirin 1000 or the Kirin 1020.
There is even news that the Huawei Mate 40 series will provide two different versions of the chip. While the Chinese version is expected to come with a HiSilicone chip, the international variant may be accompanied by a Dimensity chip. But these are rumors and have not yet been confirmed.
As usual, the Mate 40 Pro will be released after Kirin’s new SoC. So it can be released in late September.
