In the GeekBench list, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra appeared with 10 GB of RAM, Exynos 990 SoC and Android 10 operating system. Coming to the scores, it managed to score 928 single-core performance and 2721 in the multi-core test. It is already known that the Galaxy S20 series with the Exynos 990 chipset in most markets is inferior to the Snapdragon counterparts. This performance gap ended up giving a huge reaction to the brand. Galaxy fans ended up signing a report asking Samsung not to use Exynos in its top line.

To fix it, Samsung It currently plans to use an improved version of the Exynos 990 in the Note 20 series, if the recent rumor is to be believed. According to the rumor, the improved Exynos has better thermal performance than the SD865 + chipset.

Well, the first reference list does not seem to agree with that. It makes sense given that there is no way to see if the main issues are fixed or not. For those who do not know, the issues we are looking at are heating, GPU throttle, higher power consumption in efficiency mode.

same performance levels as the S20!

The ratings show that the performance levels of the Note 20 line are similar to those of the Galaxy S20. The performance gap will be further widened with the brand valid with the Snapdragon 865+ this time. With that said, it is worth noting that a reference score cannot color the whole picture. If the device will have an improved chipset 0r no, only time will tell.

Considering all the reactions the brand is facing, Samsung should have a firm reason to stick with the Exynos chipsets for the Note 20. For those who do not know, Samsung will release the Galaxy Note 20 series at the upcoming Galaxy event Unpacked 2020. The conference will take place on August 5th. Along with the Note 20, we will see the Galaxy Tab S7, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Watch 3 and Galaxy Buds Live series.
