Oppo has greatly changed the philosophy of the software, as Realme proved to be successful. If in the past the company was characterized by a lack of software updates for its smartphone, now it is doing a remarkable job bringing ColoOS 7 based on Android 10 for recent smartphones. The Chinese company announced the release of ColorOS 7 in December last year and is still releasing the update for some devices in China. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has certainly delayed some of the company’s plans. Nevertheless, the company announced a new update program in July for some smartphones in China.
ColorOS currently has over 350 million active users worldwide. It is one of the most used and most important Android skins in the world. It may be less popular than MIUI and EMUI. The software is located between Oppo smartphones and previously Realme devices. The latest company still uses a branch of ColorOS, but is closer to stock Android. Although the company has ColorOS 7.1 and ColorOS 7.2 exclusively for smartphones, the ColorOS 7 update remains the most important update for users waiting for Android 10.
Below you can see the full list of Oppo smartphones that will receive ColorOS 7 update in China in July.
- Oppo R15 – July 10
- Oppo A9 – July 10
- A9X – July 10
- Oppo A3 – July 10
- Α91 – 24 July
- R15 Dream Mirror Edition – July 25
The ColorOS 7 update has not yet reached these smartphones in global markets. In fact, the Oppo R15 series will be updated in July in markets such as Australia, China, Europe and India. However, the Global Oppo A91 will receive its global update only in August.
What is the big offer in the ColorOS 7 update?
ColorOS 7 offers a ton of improvements for Oppo smartphones, including Dark Theme throughout the system and a new interface. In addition, there are some security improvements and new features for the stock camera application. This is a huge update if you are running ColorOS 6.x based on pie. The mood shows how the company changes its nature. The company was not the best at providing software updates a few years ago. We can say that this abrupt change is one of the results caused by the huge success of Realme. The company’s former subsidiary is now known as a brand that provides good software support for its customers. As mentioned above, Realme devices use a branch of ColorOS 7 called the Realme UI.
