A few days before the release of the OnePlus Nord, the company revealed that the phone will not be released in the United States. However, they said they “look forward to bringing more affordable smartphones to North America in the future.” It has now been revealed that the United States will receive a OnePlus Nord device later this year. The information was revealed by none other than Carl Pei in Wired Magazine. The co-founder revealed that another smartphone named Nord will arrive in the US later this year. This is a big revelation since we can assume that Nord is not the name of the recently released smartphone, but the name of a series of affordable OnePlus smartphones.
There is speculation that the upcoming smartphone may be the OnePlus Nord that has already been released. However, it may be accompanied by some modifications for the US. Given that we have already reached the third quarter of 2020, we expect more details about this handset in the coming months. The device may be unveiled in September or even October alongside the OnePlus 8T. The latter composition is probably coming for the United States.
Another mid-range OnePlus phone appeared on GeekBench with Snapdragon 690 5G
If you remember, a few days before the release of the OnePlus Nord, a OnePlus phone appeared on Geekbench with a Snapdragon 690 processor. This chipset is the first 5G chip to come for the SD6xx family. The phone with this chipset can also be revealed as a OnePlus Nord phone in the United States. Considering that it packs a less powerful process, it could be cheaper than what the Snapdragon 765G packs.
